Workforce Ventures (WV) is a community development financial institution aimed at advancing workforce development in priority occupations and sectors by creating opportunities for low-income and underrepresented populations. WV’s training prioritizes careers that pay family-sustaining wages, offering funding, wrap-around services, mentoring, career readiness, and job placement support. Its financial support will come in the form of income share agreements (ISAs) with the aim of improving the quality of jobs for workers and boosting inclusive hiring among participating companies. These ISAs, developed in collaboration with the San Diego Workforce Partnership and JFI, will have a pay-it-forward mechanism that allows participants who obtain high-paying jobs to help support future students and trainees.
